Together for Thanksgiving and Ipueiras, Our future Home
I cannot imagine what it is like to have a family that doesn't want to be together, especially for the Holidays. We are most thankful to the good Lord that we were able to spend Thanksgiving with our kids. We love them. They love us. We all love each other. I don't want to make it sound Facebook airbrushed perfect, but it is a real good thing. This togetherness is even bigger when you consider that in January, only four of us are heading back to our new adventure.
Now that we have some insight and 14 years of experience, our desire is to start a new church plant with the wisdom that we have so painstakingly learned. Mistakes made will be changed and successful tactics will be repeated. In October of 2023 we moved to the town of Nova Russas to work with one of our well-established interior churches. Our goal will be to train and lead a team from the church to evangelize, disciple, and plant a church in the town of Ipueiras. Pastor Egberto (Seen in photo with his wife Marcia) from the Nova Russas church has agreed that working together to plant a church would be blessing to all. This would ensure a consistent work with the people when we are on home assignment. Also, as the church matures and grows, it gives fellowship and aid to help nurture the church through its infancy. It is a real blessing to know that we will not be so isolated as we spend the next couple of years working with a dedicated church team. Undoubtedly, this will bring some new challenges in ministry. In the long run, it will be a great way for the body of Christ to work together for God’s Glory. Our home dynamic has also changed as we return to Brazil with only 2 of our four children, Lilyanne (12) and Levi (10). We are looking forward to getting to know our future home, church family, and city of Ipueiras.
